In October, Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth received a certificate and letter recognizing the hard work that he and his office have poured into making Alabama the most military friendly state in the nation. Ainsworth serves as the Chairman of the Alabama Military Stability Commission and in that role has pursued an aggressive agenda to improve military quality of life in Alabama.
The letter that accompanied the certificate explains, “Most notably, we appreciate your vision and leadership in creating the Heroes Welcome Initiative.” The recognition and letter come from the Deputy Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy and the Director of the Defense State Liaison Office.
Ainsworth unveiled a new website, HeroesWelcome.Alabama.Gov, over the summer as a one-stop-shop for military families transitioning to Alabama.
About the recognition, Ainsworth said, “I’m humbled that the U.S. Department of Defense has recognized my office’s efforts to improve the lives of military service members and their families across Alabama.
While I was already proud to serve as Lt. Governor, this honor makes it even more rewarding. We will always fight for our active military and veterans.”
He also acknowledged the hard work of his office’s efforts to improve the lives of military service members and their families across Alabama. See the Lt. Governor’s original post, here.
